Things got a little chippy on ESPN’s “First Take” this week over comments made by Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo was asked to share his thoughts about the recent trading of Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers to the Dallas Cowboys. Jimmy G didn’t mince words, as he was both honest and critical of his thoughts.
“Weird situation,” Garoppolo responded. “There have been a lot of weird situations over there in San Francisco. I’ll just leave it at that.”
Stephen A. Smith, let’s just say, didn’t exactly like what Jimmy G had to say on the matter. He hit the quarterback with the infamous “Shut up and play” statement, when the segment began.
“Nobody wants to hear from you,” Stephen A. continued on to say. “It’s rare that he plays. He spends more time in an infirmary than on a football field, some would argue. If he ain’t doing that, he’s with porn stars on Melrose Place in California.”
Stephen A. was referencing adult film star Kiara Mia, who Jimmy G was reportedly dating a few years ago and was taking pictures with back in 2020. Molly was quick to dispute the claim, saying that it was only one time, and Dan Orlovsky was sitting there holding back a laugh.
“That you know of,” Stephen A. quickly retorted. “I happen to know a little bit more than that. That’s why I call him P Star Jimmy.”
Stephen A. went on to, once again, emphasize that the San Francisco 49ers did not win because of Jimmy G. Rather, they won in spite of Jimmy G.
Absolutely wild that Stephen A. got that personal over Jimmy G simply sharing his opinion on a situation he was asked about. Then again, Stephen A. Smith is known to have some outlandish takes from time to time. Even so, it makes me wonder if there’s some personal animosity he has with Jimmy G.
