This week, a Delta Airlines flight had to make a U-turn from its destination (Barcelona, Spain) back to Atlanta, Georgia due to a flight passenger suffering from a serious case of the runs. The captain of the plane reportedly explained to Air Traffic Control that there was diarrhea all over the aircraft—designated it as a biohazard issue.
Going off the video posted by Twitter user “Xansby Swanson”, biohazard was putting it mildly. According to him, he said his little brother was on the flight when it happened, and said it was the funniest experience he’s ever been a part of. Xansby was having a hard time not laughing during their phone call.
Another Twitter gave us their own explanation, speaking from their partner’s point-of-view:
“My partner was on that flight! It was pretty bad. It was dribbled down the aisle, smelled horrible. The vanilla scented disinfectant used on it only made it smell like vanilla s***. After the plane landed, it was thoroughly cleaned. They didn’t leave until around 2:30 am.”
Given everything that happened, the passengers gave praise to the pilots and crew for how they handled the situation:
“Both my wife and I were on the flight,” John Hurdt said. “It was a mess. The pilots made the right decision to turn around. The ground crew ripped out the carpet and put new in. Considering the circumstances, the ground crew did a great job, along [with] the attendants and the pilots.”
How it even managed to get to that point is beyond me. They must have gotten hold of some airport food that didn’t necessarily agree with them, prior to entering the plane. Hopefully, that person is feeling much better now. But hey, now plenty of people have quite the story to tell their family members at the next family gathering.
Pretty much how Ned explained. Haven’t laughed harder than his phone call to me at midnight to explain why he was still in America. He said it was the funniest thing he’s ever experienced.
