Former NFL All-Pro defensive end and broadcaster Marcellus Wiley broke his silence Sunday regarding his July 4 arrest and the domestic battery and abuse allegations made by his wife, Annemarie Wiley. In a post on X, Wiley shared a link to a live broadcast in which he addressed the accusations directly.
Wiley has consistently denied all claims. In statements tied to his public responses, including the context of Sunday’s appearance, he refuted the specific allegation from the Florida hotel incident — that he poked his wife in the cheek and threatened her — by asserting no physical altercation occurred. He has pointed to a witness (the only other person present for the alleged incident) who, according to his court filings, did not observe any physical contact or touching.
Wiley has described the broader allegations in the divorce filings — including claims of rape, physical violence spanning years, emotional abuse, and intimidation — as “baseless claims” and “lies.” He has stated he possesses videos, photographs, text messages, emails, and other evidence that he says directly contradict her account and document the true events in their marriage and family life.

In earlier public comments that frame his approach to speaking out, Wiley emphasized: “I completely and unequivocally deny these allegations, and I’m certain the truth will prevail.” He added that his priority is protecting his children (“my itty bitties”), noting the legal constraints on full disclosure while promising to address matters “when I can speak freely.”
Sunday’s broadcast allowed Wiley to elaborate on these refutations amid the ongoing case. He has stressed that he never wanted family issues to become public but felt compelled to counter the narrative for the sake of his children, whom he describes as viewing him as their hero. He reiterated his willingness to endure personal hardship to maintain his role in their lives and his commitment to fighting through the legal process with evidence rather than speculation.
Wiley alleged his wife engaged in “repeated infidelity,” including specific references to an affair. This escalates the public back-and-forth in a high-profile celebrity divorce tied to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
He claimed “many friends, family members, and fans have opined that after she was kicked off The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she lost her mind! Unfortunately, I must agree.”
Wiley repeatedly highlighted possessing “videos, photographs, text messages, emails, and other evidence” that he says contradict her allegations of rape, physical abuse, and more, framing it as a “factual record” of their marriage.
The Florida misdemeanor domestic battery charge remains pending, with an arraignment scheduled for Aug. 4. Separately, a temporary restraining order in California, stemming from the divorce filing, is in effect until a July 24 hearing.
Wiley’s Sunday broadcast underscores his strategy of measured public denial backed by claims of concrete contradicting evidence, while keeping the focus on family protection and the judicial process ahead. Developments in both the criminal and family matters will continue to unfold in the coming weeks.
