Bills QB Josh Allen has finally reacted to Stefon Diggs’ sideline explosion and according to Josh, he is tired of hearing “nonsense” from people.
Josh Allen’s long-awaited response indicates he is indeed tired of people trying to read meanings into the situation.
Josh Allen has had enough.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen defended Stefon Diggs after a video showed the emotional wide receiver expressing his frustrations on the sideline in Sunday’s 25-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Allen, for one, is tired of hearing the noise about his guy.
“People are throwing different ideas about what he was mad at on the sideline. He was mad at himself for running the wrong release on a route,” Allen said Wednesday, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “He’s a competitor, he’s a fiery competitor. I’m tired of hearing all this nonsense from people. There’s a lot of guys in the league who have that fire who don’t get talked about.”
Diggs was seen slamming a tablet down on the ground as he stood up and looked to be very upset.
“I’d be worried if no one was freaking out,” Allen added. “That’s the make of a good football team. We’re not OK with being mediocre.”
Diggs finished Week 5 with eight catches for 121 yards and one touchdown. He’s topped the 100-yard mark in four of his five appearances while scoring five touchdowns this season.
His blow-ups on the sidelines have been notable ever since he was seemingly yelling at Allen on the sideline in the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s divisional-round home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in January.
The 29-year-old also skipped the first day of the Bills’ mandatory minicamp and was reportedly unhappy with his role in the team’s offense and his voice in play-calling.
Diggs has continued to thrive with Allen and the Bills. In each of his first three seasons in Buffalo, he’s notched at least 100 receptions and 1,200 receiving yards.
