Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith got trolled by the crew on “First Take” over his choice of outfit at the WNBA finals. The crew was like, you “lookin’ like an extra from 21 Jump Street.”
They were expecting Stephen to glam up in his usual suit and tie stuff but NO, he had another choice of outfit in mind and stormed the WNBA finals in that outfit.
Stephen A. Smith was the butt of jokes during Thursday’s episode of ‘First Take’ after ditching his suit to attend Wednesday night’s WNBA Finals game in casual threads.
The ESPN star is typically very dapper given his exquisite taste in suits. However, he opted for a jacket, sneakers, and a fitted cap as he made an appearance at the game between the Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty at the Barclays Center.
Co-host Kimberly A. Martin wasn’t feeling the fit and joked that the popular journalist bore the look of an undercover cop.
“Lookin’ like an extra from 21 Jump Street,” she said. “We saw that fit – undercover.”
Smith would try to explain that he was hanging out with his daughter, which he was.
“It was daddy-daughter night,” Smith said. “I took my daughter to her first basketball game. She was right next to me. I was just hanging out.”
As for the game itself, the Aces are the reigning WNBA champions after winning 70-69 to successfully defend their title from the previous season.
A’ja Wilson led the way for Vegas, scoring 24 points and hauling 15 rebounds while Jackie Young added another 16 points.
It’s not always going to be a suit and tie, sometimes, you have to spice things up and spark the conversations on the socials and sports platforms.
