Kirk Cousins didn’t spend any time getting his right leg’s torn Achilles tendon repaired, having had successful surgery early on Wednesday morning.
Kirk Cousins, the quarterback for the Vikings, announced on social media that he underwent a successful procedure at Twin Cities Orthopedics in Eagan, Minnesota, under the direction of Dr. Chris Coetzee.
On social media, cousins expressed gratitude for the fans’ prayers and thanked the physician and the medical staff for their hard work.
“Surgery was a success! Grateful for your prayers, Dr. Coetzee’s abilities, and our medical team. Would appreciate continued prayers! One day at a time…” Cousins wrote.

Following surgery, Cousins will miss the remainder of the season after the Vikings placed him on injured reserve on Tuesday.
This past Sunday, during the Vikings’ 24-10 victory against the Packers, Cousins tore his Achilles. He stumbled forward, dropped back, and embedded his right cleat in the Lambeau Field grass. On the play, Kenny Clark touched him down for a sack, but he was able to fall forward and protect the ball. He then jumped off the field to the sideline.
The team’s quarterback for Sunday’s game in Atlanta is rookie Jaren Hall, as coach Kevin O’Connell announced this week. Josh Dobbs, a former quarterback for the Cardinals, was acquired by the Vikings. He might be ready to start on Sunday and provide backup to Hall.
