Although he hasn’t played like a Heisman the past few weeks, Caleb Williams is still predicted to be the first overall choice in the NFL Draft the next year.
After taking home the title the previous season, the USC quarterback is most likely headed to the NFL and won’t be playing again. Despite their poor performance this season, the New England Patriots are currently the favored team to choose him, according to BetOnline.ag.
The six-time Super Bowl champs are currently 2-8, and with the way things are going with Mac Jones, improvement does not seem to be in the cards.

Bill Belichick is still in charge and is apparently not committed to starting Jones as his quarterback. Prior to their loss to the Indianapolis Colts, there were rumors that he was under pressure.
The Carolina Panthers are 1-9, while the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals are at 2-8. However, Williams is the favorite to take Jones’ spot in the first round and be selected by the Patriots.
The latter has the makings of a franchise player, and it is well known what Belichick is capable of doing with a premier quarterback.
Even if he hasn’t been the best head coach since Tom Brady left, Belichick might be able to restore his reputation with just one season with Williams at quarterback.
