Retired NBA player Joe Smith has opened up about former Love & Hip Hop cast member Moniece Slaughter forging $109K in checks while they were dating. According to Joe Smith who is now battling financial problems, “he began noticing money rapidly disappearing from his bank account, and it was his financial advisor who first alerted him to nine checks totaling $109,000, which were written to an unknown associate of Slaughter’s, Timothy Carr. Smith hired a private investigator, who found evidence of Slaughter cashing the checks.”

When Smith tried to file charges, he was denied, as the authorities claimed it was a “he said, she said” situation, with Slaughter arguing that Smith had given her permission to write the checks. Despite strong evidence – including different handwriting on the fraudulent checks – no charges were filed, and Smith has yet to recover the stolen funds.
