NFL Starting Quarterback Says Stays at His Parents’ Home : “My Mom Still Makes My Bed”

With his six-figure NFL paycheck, Tommy DeVito, the quarterback for the New York Giants, could afford to live in an opulent mansion by himself.

However, DeVito recently disclosed to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan that he still resides contentedly and happily with his parents in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. DeVito continued by saying that his mother still makes his bed and that she takes care of his laundry:

“It was a no-brainer for me (choosing to live at home). Everything that I need is there at the house. The decision was made since this level of football is stressful for a rookie, especially from the quarterback position. There is a lot going on, a lot of meetings. So everything outside of football is handled by my family.

“I don’t have to worry about laundry, what I’m eating for dinner, chicken cutlets and all that is waiting for me when I get there. My mom still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me. Honestly, I don’t even know if I could find a place closer to here than where I live. It takes me 12 minutes to get here.”

Before going pro, DeVito played collegiate football at Syracuse and Illinois. After the 2023 NFL Draft, he signed a contract with the Giants despite not being selected. DeVito will start tomorrow night’s road game against the bitter rival Dallas Cowboys, with Daniel Jones (torn ACL) sidelined for the whole season and backup Tyrod Taylor (ribs) sidelined as well.

In the road loss against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, DeVito was forced to replace Jones. In less than a day, we’ll find out if DeVito can lead his squad to an incredible shock.
