Does Bijan Robinson, a rookie running back for the Atlanta Falcons, possess the best agility in the league? The rookie running back Bijan Robinson has been the focus of attention for Atlanta Falcons supporters and NFL fans in general since the spring.
Robinson was heralded as the greatest running back prospect in years when he was selected eighth overall in the April draft out of Texas. He impressed the Falcons enough to be the highest-drafted running back since Saquon Barkley five years prior, thanks to both his incredible collegiate output and outstanding intangibles.
He has demonstrated his unique qualities throughout his debut season in the Peach State.
Robinson’s agility is one of his most distinctive qualities, and he has demonstrated it well; ESPN named him the “most sudden” rusher in the NFL. ESPN writes ,
“An all-purpose playmaker, Robinson has the stop/start ability to slice through pursuit angles,” “He has 24 rushes of 10 or more yards in his rookie season, the fifth-most in the league.”
Bijan Robinson’s first season analyzed
In his rookie campaign, the former Longhorns standout has encountered some roadblocks, most notably a few fumbling mishaps and sporadic offensive misuse. Still, his first year has been mainly successful.
Robinson has averaged 4.6 yards per attempt while running for 801 yards and four touchdowns in 13 starts. With 41 receptions for 323 yards and three scores, he has also proven to be a threat in the air. For a rookie, Robinson’s season of over 1,000 yards from scrimmage is astounding, and opposing defenses need always be aware of him.
Atlanta needs Robinson to be at the top of his game as we approach the finish line.
The Falcons’ chances of making the playoffs have significantly decreased after two straight losses to divisional opponents. To overcome those odds, they will require production from their finest offensive weapon, especially with Taylor Heinicke back in the starting quarterback position.
Regardless of how this season plays out, though, Robinson is going to be a mainstay in Atlanta for a very long time.
