A domestic abuse complaint led to the arrest of former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Tariq Carpenter. Jonathan Silver of TribLive.com reports that former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Tariq Carpenter was arrested for domestic abuse before he was let go by the team.
In the Crawford-Roberts neighborhood, police were called to a domestic violence complaint. According to the complaint, about eight in the morning, Carpenter “threw his live-in girlfriend to the ground and held her down against her will” following an altercation.
Silver reports that Tariq Carpenter’s alleged infidelity toward the woman in question was the source of the altercation, according to the police. The complaint states that the former linebacker for the Steelers became enraged, pulled her out of bed, and flung her to the ground, hurting his shoulder.
Carpenter’s girlfriend is accused of scratching his face during the altercation.
When she tried to use her cell phone to dial 911, Tariq Carpenter took it and hung up. The apartment was in disarray when the police arrived. Carpenter claimed to be the incident’s victim, according to the report.
