As Nick Sirianni’s Position as Eagles Head Coach Is Still Uncertain, an NFL Insider Provides an Update on Him

After the Eagles‘ disappointing season finale, Nick Sirianni is reportedly under pressure in Philadelphia.

Due to a lopsided loss to the Bucs in the first round of the playoffs, Sirianni’s career is in peril. Last year’s Super Bowl finalists were eliminated. Following the setback on Monday night, the head coach stated that he had no concerns about losing his job and that his players came first.

Sirianni may stay in Philadelphia as he and general manager Howie Roseman have reached out to potential coaches and coordinators, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

However, because of logistical concerns, he has not yet spoken with team owner Jeffrey Lurie, so it is not safe to presume that he is coming back. Russini said ,

“Until that meeting happens, all bets are off,”

Given that he has led the team to the postseason in each of his three seasons as head coach—a first in their eyes—it is difficult to accept that Sirianni is under fire. Last season, he also led them to the Super Bowl.

Through their first 11 games, the Eagles boasted an amazing 10-1 run and occasionally looked like a team ready to make a run at the Super Bowl. However, following a few narrow wins, they lost five of their next six games and were subsequently eliminated from postseason play.
