The head coach of the Atlanta Falcons has had his contract terminated. Arthur Smith has been let go by the Atlanta Falcons organization. According to Steve Wyche of NFL Network,
“The Falcons have announced the firing of HC Arthur Smith. GM Terry Fontenot remains and, according to the team, will provide input into the coaching search,”

Atlanta announced the following on their website:
“Atlanta Falcons have dismissed Arthur Smith as the team’s head coach following a meeting Sunday night in Atlanta with Falcons Owner and Chairman, Arthur M. Blank, and the team’s CEO, Rich McKay.”
Smith finishes his tenure with the Falcons with a 21-30 record, having gone 7-10 this year. Making history, he is the first head coach fired ahead of tomorrow’s “Black Monday.”
