The Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Denver Broncos 27-14 thanks to a potent offensive display.
The Denver Broncos were defeated 27-14 by the Las Vegas Raiders to round out the 2023–24 campaign. The Raiders were proficient on both ends of the ball, but they managed to keep the game out of reach thanks to a strong offensive effort.
In the second and fourth quarters, Las Vegas scored 10 points and ran 373 yards of offense. One of
Bo Hardegree‘s greatest games as offensive coordinator since taking over in the middle of the season.
Incredible playcalling by the Raiders
Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers was the recipient of a reverse handoff from the Raiders in the first quarter. After initially running right and trying to throw, he reversed field and ran it in for a score.
The original play call was ineffective because Meyers was unable to find an open receiver, but it was nevertheless successful because it made the Broncos defense go all the way over to defend the end zone, which gave Meyers the opportunity to reverse field.
Tre Tucker, a wide receiver who concluded the day with five catches for 79 yards, allowed the Raiders to further integrate him into the offense. In the second quarter, they lined him up in the backfield and got him moving on a first-down reception.
Tucker used his quickness to get away from defender Fabian Moreau on a 47-yard throw from quarterback Aidan O’Connell just before the half ended. Tucker was well-utilized by the Raiders, and the upcoming season should see a significant increase in his offensive role.
After three quarters, the Raiders were ahead 17–7. They attempted a fake screen to wide receiver Davante Adams, but Meyers was wide open for a 33-yard touchdown because the defense bit on it. The Raiders’ offensive success was facilitated by Hardegree’s inventive playcalling.
Throwing for 244 yards and two touchdowns, O’Connell demonstrated his skill. Zamir White scored his second 100-yard game of the year while rushing, demonstrating the effectiveness of the run game. In his first year, he only managed 70 rushing yards.
Both Hardegree and Interim Coach Antonio Pierce are undergoing evaluations. With a well-called game, he increased his chances of being the Raiders’ full-time offensive coordinator.
