Current Patriots WR and former LSU WR Kayshon Boutte is in trouble with the law.
It appears that Boutte while at LSU was using a fake indentity to make sports wagers. While they were mostly small wagers they ended up around $9k in total.
He has been arrested after an investigation according to Nola.com
Former LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte has been arrested, accused of using an alias to illegally bet on himself, LSU, and thousands of other games while he was underage, Louisiana State Police said in a news release.
Boutte was booked in Baton Rouge on a felony count of computer fraud and a misdemeanor count of gaming prohibited by persons under 21.
“In July 2023, LSU was made aware of allegations regarding a former student-athlete’s improper conduct related to sports gambling while enrolled at the University,” LSU said in a statement. “Since then, we have fully cooperated with all relevant authorities involved in the investigation and will continue to do so. We have no evidence that any other student-athletes participated in these prohibited activities, and we are grateful for measures that detect and discourage sports gambling related misconduct.”
The news release says Boutte placed over 8,900 wagers, at least 17 of which were on NCAA football games and at least 6 of which were on LSU football.
It appears LSU snitched on him to the Feds and that is why he was arrested.
