Following a depressing setback at home on Christmas Day, the Kansas City Chiefs made a huge comeback. Even though the Chiefs only managed one touchdown on Sunday, a barrage of Harrison Butker field goals was sufficient to defeat the Bengals.
The Chiefs won the AFC West for an unprecedented seventh time as a result of the result. The Chiefs owner’s daughter, Gracie Hunt, posted a brief statement on her Instagram account after the game.
“EIGHT STRAIGHT,” she penned.
Isiah Pacheco, the running back for the Chiefs, ran for 130 yards on Sunday in addition to catching five passes for 36 yards, including a touchdown throw from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
On Sunday, Patrick Mahomes was not at all horrible; he completed 21 of 29 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown with one fumble lost.
Veteran kicker Harrison Butker scored the game’s final 18 points on a 6-for-6 field goal attempt, helping Kansas City overcome a 17-7 hole and outscore Cincinnati 12-0 in the second half.
The Chiefs play the Chargers to end the regular season.
The Chiefs will play their first round playoff game on the weekend of January 13–14 in the NFL Wild Card Round.
