Francis Ngannou didn’t have a successful boxing debut against Tyson Fury in October 2023 in Riyadh. He went on to lose the bout on the scorecard. However, Ngannou’s sheer power and ability to stand against the best was once again brought to prominence.
Francis Ngannou scored the only knockdown of the fight and let ‘The Gypsy King; feel the pressure. He undoubtedly gave one of the toughest fights to Tyson Fury and man people believed him to be the real winner of the clash.
That said, Ngannou’s financial gains were also massive. He reportedly made $10 million, the most amount he ever received in a professional fight. Meanwhile, ‘The Predator’ made sure he looked well after his coach Eric Nickson.
In a recent interview, Erick Nickson seemed emotional while reflecting on how Francis Ngannou has taken care of him. Without disclosing the actual amount, he revealed to have received the most amount as a coach from the firmer UFC champion.
Erick Nickson told MMA Junkie, “It was the most money I’ve ever been paid by a fighter, it was unbelievable. It was more than I expected. Obviously, Francis has always taken great care of me, but it floored me. When I saw my Wells Fargo account that morning, it literally brought me to tears.”
“That’s a true story. Literally brought me to tears, because he changed my life. Not only from a professional standpoint but a monetary standpoint. It allowed me a lot of financial freedom to allow me to be able to enjoy my coaching, enjoy being a dad and a husband.”
Who Can Francis Ngannou Face Next?
‘The Predator’ is signed with the PFL MMA and shall continue his martial art journey with them. Meanwhile, he is also in the position to explore more boxing oppurtunities. Following a spectacular performance against Tyson Fury, he has more doors opened up for the future.
Deontay Wilder has desired to test himself against Francis Ngannou on several occasions, Now Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua also seems interested. It remains to be seen whom Ngannou choses to fight next, especially when he can continue to switch between MMA and boxing from now on.
