LeBron James’s game has changed, as Gilbert Arenas disclosed. LeBron James is one of the few NBA players who has developed the most. Throughout his career, which spanned from 2003 to 2024, LeBron had to personally adjust to the NBA’s new rules and play styles.

Gilbert Arenas, a former guard with the Grizzlies, discussed how he has watched James’ game change from their days of playing against one another. On the most recent episode of Paul George’s Podcast P, Arenas discussed the evolution.
“He was one of those players,” Arenas said. “So smart that he plays to his strengths, never his weaknesses. So when you’re trying to say he’s not a one on one guy,…he’s not going to try to do it right. He’s going to play to his perfection. And that’s hard to do, you have to consciously be thinking about like Ben Simmons, ‘I’m not going to be suckered in to just shoot jump shots just to prove a point. That’s what LeBron mastered, I’m just going to stick with what I’m great at and I’m going to perfect it. And if y’all think he’s fast now, what you think was coming down the lane then?”
Using his advantages is something LeBron James excels at, if there is one thing. He made a special drive to the rim on the closing play of the Lakers’ victory over the Golden State Warriors last night, and it paid off. He still plays at a very effective rate even though he has adjusted to hitting deep threes to fit the style of the game now. That’s why the Memphis Grizzlies had such a difficult time in the previous season’s NBA Playoffs.
