Kevin Durant will play the Nets in the Barclays Center this week for the first time since joining the Phoenix Suns. The Nets supporters have already circled this Wednesday in their season schedule since it will be Kevin Durant’s first official game in Brooklyn following his trade from the team at the previous season’s trade deadline.
Although there are a lot of presumptions in the Nets community that the organization could at least recognize him with a video tribute, it seems that KD would rather treat his return to Brooklyn like any other regular season game.
Kevin Durant doesn’t want a Video Tribute
In response to a poll on X created by a Nets fan asking if he should receive a special video homage from Brooklyn, Durant already went so far as to say that he would not be pleased with any recognition that the team would receive within the Barclays Center.
Durant’s remark went viral right away and generated a lot of fan response.

After spending two and a half seasons in Brooklyn, Durant averaged 29.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists while shooting 53.5 percent in 129 games during the regular season.
2019 saw them establish a brilliant offensive partnership with Kyrie Irving, but their journey proved to be a wild one for the team as a whole as well as for them personally. During their time with the team, James Harden helped establish a superteam, but it lasted just a year and sadly failed to win a championship.

It won’t be long until we find out if the Nets will actually play a video ode to welcome KD back.
