Jerry Jones Gives Startling Justification for His Choice To Retain Mike McCarthy as the Cowboys’ Head Coach

Owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, has provided an incredible justification for maintaining Mike McCarthy as the team’s head coach. At the very least, it may surprise dissatisfied supporters who may have been anticipating a change following the most recent postseason humiliation.

With a 12-5 record and an NFC East championship, the Cowboys qualified for the postseason, but they were eliminated early after a stunning blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Mike McCarthy

A significant portion of the fan base had been expecting Jones to make a change at the top, but surprisingly, Jones has chosen to retain McCarthy for a minimum of one more season.

He has since released a statement outlining his choice.

“I believe this team is very close and capable of achieving our ultimate goals and the best step forward for us will be with Mike McCarthy as head coach,” “There is great benefit to continuing the team’s progress under Mike’s leadership as our head coach.”

It is hardly surprise that this release has drawn a lot of criticism. After all, since taking over, McCarthy has been unable to advance the Cowboys past the divisional round. Will this turn out to be the right choice in the end? It is safe to say that Cowboys supporters don’t feel that way.
