LeBron James and Fanatics recently sealed a groundbreaking multiyear trading card contract, as disclosed by Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. The deal signifies a pivotal move for James, who had exclusively associated with Upper Deck throughout his entire NBA journey.
To celebrate this alliance, LeBron, accompanied by his son Bronny, who currently plays as a guard for USC, will unveil an exclusive one-of-one signed card later this month. Notably, this release marks a significant return of James’ autographed cards to the market, ending a hiatus from signing cards during the latter part of his Upper Deck contract.

LeBron James Excited to Share Partnership
In a statement expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, LeBron James shared, “As someone who appreciates all the moments — big and small — along the journey, I’m excited to share more with my fans through this partnership with Fanatics.”
As the most renowned basketball player globally, LeBron’s collaboration with Fanatics is a major win for the company, known for making strides in the trading card industry since acquiring Topps in 2022. Fanatics is poised to become the NBA’s official partner in 2026, succeeding Panini, and has existing agreements with Major League Baseball and the NFL Players’ Association.
Fanatics Collectibles CEO Mike Mahan expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Our goal is to push the envelope of where the hobby can go, and we are excited about how our collaboration with one of the best athletes in the world will continue to ignite fan and collector passion.”

Although the specifics of the contract remain undisclosed, it is expected to extend well beyond LeBron’s playing career. Despite being 39 years old, James remains a premier player in the NBA. This partnership positions Fanatics to be the primary source for selling playing cards commemorating LeBron James’ illustrious career once he decides to step away from the game, marking a significant development in the trading card landscape.
