Dana White is yet to announce but Conor McGregor has already expressed his intentions of making the MMA comeback at UFC 302 on June 29th against Michael Chandler. He confirmed to set the bout at 185 lbs (middleweight), which shook several fans.
Conor McGregor has previously competed at 145 lbs, 155 lbs, and 170 bs but never at 185 lbs. Upon earning a win at the middleweight, he will be one of the rare fighters to have earned wins across four weight classes.
That said, the Irishman is also planning to secure his 20th professional KO victory against Michael Chandler. It’s been over four years since ‘Notorious’ earned his last KO win at UFC 246 against Donald Cerrone.
He has lost to Dustin Poirier consecutively at UFC 257 and UFC 264 and desperately needs to secure a win on his next. Turning to Twitter, McGregor outlined his plans to earn another KO to his record.
He wrote, “Coming back for my 20th KO in professional MMA competition.”

Conor McGregor is undoubtedly one of the hardest punchers in the UFC. His left hook has put many top-tier opponents on the mat, including Eddie Alvarez, Jose Also, Chad Mendes amongst others. Although Conor McGregor hasn’t looked very sharp in the past few years, there’s no way Michael Chandler should overlook the Irishman’s abilities.
Michael Chandler has earned the biggest fight of his career and that should inspire him to outperform McGregor. Hence, neither man should underestimate the other.
Conor McGregor Chose UFC Return Over Lucrative Offer From Saudi Arabia
Before confirming his MMA return at UFC 302, Conor McGregor had sounded off on The promotion for not letting him bag an appropriate fight. McGregor was in attendance for the ‘Day of reckoning’ boxing event ft. AJ vs Wallin and Wilder vs Parker.
He addressed his combat future and mentioned how the UFC isn’t initiating any return plans for him. The Irishman also mentioned that a potential boing match between him and Manny Pacquiao is also being discussed.
