Superstar Luka Doncic of the Mavs identified the key area that needs to be addressed for the team to stay in the running for a title. With a 25-21 record going into their game against the Orlando Magic on Monday, the Dallas Mavericks are ranked eighth in the Western Conference.
The squad hasn’t quite found a groove where they’ve demonstrated a sustained potential to be among the NBA’s top teams, despite Luka Doncic having yet another fantastic season.
The most important thing for a player like Doncic is to compete for a title. Doncic discussed a variety of subjects with Slovenian journalist Andrej Miljkovic of Ekipa24 following the Mavs’ most recent defeat to the Boston Celtics.

Luka Doncic talks about what Mavs lack
For those Slovenian supporters of the Mavs who also hope to see Doncic win a championship, what does the superstar think the club needs to get to the next level to win it all?
Doncic began by emphasizing the need of paying attention to injuries. Doncic emphasized how the team was recovering from a serious issue of several key players being sidelined, including the team’s “Big 3,” which he mentioned consisting of him, Irving, and Dereck Lively II, before more details about Kyrie Irving’s thumb sprain became public. He said,
“I’m not saying people aren’t taking into account all of our injury problems this season, but maybe not enough of them,” “It was a serious injury crisis; there was always someone missing, and there was always someone important missing. In my opinion, we are even closer to being in perfect shape and at least approximately healthy now. Especially our ‘Big 3,’ as we would say here — we have played very little together in matches, even less in training. We still have to get used to it, even though we are already in the second half of the regular season.”
After Doncic’s encouraging remark, the Mavs have had trouble maintaining their roster. Irving, who was ruled out of Monday’s game, is expected to miss his fourth straight game because of a right thumb sprain. Some players are dubious, such as Dwight Powell, Derrick Jones Jr., and Dante Exum.
Doncic emphasized the necessity for the Mavs to be more physically aggressive, pointing out that opponents frequently use far more aggressiveness against them when it should be the other way around.
