Two weeks after Mike Vrabel‘s unexpected decision to step down, the Tennessee Titans have appointed a new head coach.
The Titans have selected Brian Callahan, the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, to be their new head coach, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. After Callahan’s second interview with the Titans concluded on Monday, it was evident that the AFC South team was satisfied enough to proceed with a deal at that moment.

Brian is the son of Bill Callahan, the former head coach of the Oakland Raiders who guided the team to a Super Bowl 37 appearance in 2002. Callahan was the quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions from 2016 to 2017 and the Raiders from 2018 before coming to the Bengals in 2019.
The Titans had their poorest record since 2015 as they concluded the season with a dismal 6-11 record. With Callahan taking over as head coach in lieu of Vrabel, Music City football has entered a whole new era.
From 2010 to 2015, Callahan was also a member of the Denver Broncos coaching staff, serving under John Fox and then Gary Kubiak. From 2013 to 2015, Callahan served as an offensive assistant for the Broncos under the direction of Peyton Manning. In the latter year, he was awarded a Super Bowl 50 ring.
