After defeating the Jets in Week 17, the Browns guaranteed their position in the postseason. For the first time since 2020, the Browns had secured a postseason berth.
The Browns qualified for the playoffs twice, using a variety of starting quarterbacks. After an injury limited rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson to one game, Deshaun Watson started Cleveland’s first three games. P.J. Walker then started for the team for a few weeks.
Watson joined back up, but he would soon suffer a shoulder injury that would terminate his season. The team opted to bring in Joe Flacco from his couch and offered Thompson-Robinson another chance.
Despite starting four different quarterbacks, the Browns became the first club in NFL history to make it to the playoffs.
Myles Garrett, an All-Pro pass rusher, recently discussed how this season has felt to him and said the club is looking a lot like the Philadelphia Eagles of 2017.
“It is kind of eerily similar {to the Eagles 2017 Super Bowl team} from having the same coach (Jim Schwartz), who was on that team, who is here & he’s definitely brought it up a couple times,” he told Fox Sports.

The Browns were assured of the fifth seed in the AFC North following the Ravens’ victory over the Dolphins to take the top spot in the division. In their Wild Card playoff match, they will take on the victor of the AFC South.
With nothing to play for in Week 18, the squad will be resting its starters.
