Now that the NFL offseason has begun, everyone’s focus is on free agency and the draft. The 2023 Denver Broncos season was marred by the Russell Wilson scandal, so it looks like the team will be looking for a quarterback in spring.
According to Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt, the team will select their new quarterback in the draft. Nix is chosen by the Broncos with the 12th overall choice in the first round of Klatt’s most recent NFL mock draft. Klatt wrote for Fox saying,
“It might be a little high to select Nix, but he fits that mold perfectly,” “He’s an experienced, smart, point guard-style and accurate passer. Maybe the Broncos can move back to pick Nix, but they have to select him in the first round because they don’t have a second-round pick.”
Perhaps selecting Nix in the draft will provide Broncos head coach Sean Payton a young quarterback that best suits his offense. Though purely speculative, Nix might be a fantastic Wilson substitute in 2024.
