Following the team’s 25-22 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday night, Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox made fun of San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel.
Cox posted several remarks on his Instagram Stories that were directed toward Samuel. He wrote :
“Keep the Eagles out cho mouth Boe,” “I still got some you ain’t got. Ya!! I be holding this one in son!!!!!,”
Cox and the Eagles lost 38-35 to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII despite defeating the 49ers in the previous year’s NFC Championship Game. After assisting the Eagles in defeating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII, Cox already has a Super Bowl ring on his mantle.
Deebo Samuel spoke about 49ers- Eagles Rivalry
Earlier in the week, Samuel was questioned about whether or not the 49ers and Eagles were developing a rivalry.
Samuel was probably talking about the most recent game between the Eagles and Niners. In December, during a regular season game, San Francisco defeated Philly 42–19 by exacting revenge. Throughout the game, Samuel ran for another touchdown and scored two receiving scores. He said ,
“I consider rivalries close games. We ain’t going to talk about that no more. That’s over with,”
Samuel has three receptions for 33 yards on Sunday. He seemed to play with a hamstring problem.
