This past weekend saw the death of a former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Golden Richards.
At the age of 73, Golden Richards, who is best known for having caught a touchdown pass on a gadget play to help Dallas win the Super Bowl in 1978, passed away on Friday.
Richards, who was well-known for his voluminous blonde hair, is said to have passed away at his Murray, California, home from congestive heart failure. Lance Richard, his nephew, posted a confirmation of his passing on Facebook. He wrote,
“My uncle Golden passed away peacefully this morning,”
“I will forever remember going hunting and talking Dallas Cowboy football. He was a kind and sweet soul and I’m so happy he’s not suffering anymore.”
