Richard Jefferson just loves to get those witty one-liners in. After Super Bowl 58 went into overtime, the San Francisco 49ers made the decision to take the ball first and have since faced a lot of backlash.
They appear much worse now that a few players have acknowledged they were ignorant of the overtime regulations. Additionally, they were scooping stray balls at the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game on Friday. On the call for the event, analyst and pundit Richard Jefferson made light of the Niners while discussing the intricacy of the new regulations and the several novelties that were unveiled during the game. He said,
“If you don’t know the rules, it can be very detrimental. Just ask the 49ers,”

Since then, Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan has clarified that he requested the third possession of the quarter in the event that, after both teams had their chances, the game would have been tied.
But if San Francisco had reached the end zone on their drive, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid claimed his team would have gone for a touchdown and two-point conversion.
