Veteran New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is undoubtedly skilled at motivating his teammates in the locker room. However, Belichick’s strategy backfired in one instance, involving golfer Tiger Woods, another celebrity.
The story is told by former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman in his podcast interview with Jim Gray and Tom Brady. Edelman said,
“(Belichick) laid out an hour-long presentation on why Tiger Woods is Tiger (bleeping) Woods,”
“(He said), ‘You guys are out in Vegas in the offseason. This guy is out hitting his seven iron. He’s at the green putting.’”
A compelling tale about the alleged workaholic Woods. However, Woods got embroiled in a notorious scandal shortly after. “Recall Crazy Ambien Sex?” Clearly, Tiger was making more than simply seven iron hits. Additionally, receiver Randy Moss called out the coach during the following Patriots practice. Edelman added,
“All of the sudden, you here out of left field, ‘Hey Bill!’” “He knew exactly what it was. ‘How about Tiger (bleeping) Woods?’”
Podcast host Gray joked, “Belichick got Moss’d!”
