On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings in yet another crucial game. Los Angeles, with the Kings immediately in front of them, blew a great chance to move up the standings.
They had a chance to win the game and move up out of the bottom part of the play-in rankings, but they were unable to muster the necessary momentum. The Lakers have been extremely inconsistent this season, which has led to a great deal of resentment inside the team.
The uncertainty surrounding the team’s lineup each night has returned, making it difficult to predict which version will emerge. The Lakers have lost two games to Sacramento in addition to defeating some strong teams recently.
James Worthy thrashes Lakers after the kings loss
James Worthy, a legendary player for the Lakers and analyst for Spectrum SportsNet, was blunt in his critique of the team after yet another disappointing loss. Worthy, who has been closely following this Lakers team, was quite dissatisfied with their performance against the Kings.

The fact that LeBron James and Anthony Davis both performed poorly in the game makes it impossible for the Lakers to have any impact. Nonetheless, the two teams’ score was tied at the half.
After taking the lead in the third quarter and never looking back, Sacramento blew the Lakers out of the water. All season long, the Lakers’ story versus the Kings has been the same: they allow one poor quarter to destroy them.
The Lakers will be hoping that they don’t play Sacramento in the postseason if this game is any indication. They can defeat other strong Western Conference teams, as they have demonstrated, but they are unable to overcome the Kings.
This was yet another illustration of the bleak future the Lakers will confront. And the way to their objectives will probably be obstructed until they demonstrate that they can regularly compete with clubs like the Kings.
