Ready to be knocked out by some shocking news? Mike Tyson, at 57, is proving age is just a number as he gears up for a face-off with Jake Paul, the 30-year-old YouTube sensation. The boxing legend is flaunting his jaw-dropping power and fitness levels as he kicks off his training camp. In a battle where experience meets youthful exuberance, Tyson’s mantra seems to be “age ain’t nothing but a number.”
In preparation for his upcoming fight with Jake Paul, the YouTube star who is 30 years his junior, Tyson has officially kicked off his training with vigor. His dedication to fitness and strength training is evident in every punch he throws.
Despite being in his late 50s, Tyson continues to defy age with his unmatched athleticism and raw power. His commitment to maintaining peak physical condition serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes and fans alike.
Taking to X (Twitter) on Wednesday, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet‘ showed fans and his 27-year-old opponent a glimpse of what they’re going to witness in the ring on July 20 in Dallas, Texas, as he practiced a series of punches with his trainer.
‘It’s day 1…the fun has just begun,’ Tyson said at the end of the video, insinuating that there’s more to come in the next four months.
At the start of the month, Tyson, who is regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, said it would be fun to take on Paul, who has a 9-1 record with six knockouts. The fight will not involve headguards, it’s been revealed since.
‘Iron Mike’, who has a 50-6 record with 44 knockouts, will be hoping to shake off the rust as it will be the first time in 19 years since his last competitive fight took place. His matchup against Paul will be at the AT&T Stadium – an 80,000 seat seat arena.
‘I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul,’ Tyson said in a statement. ‘He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ”kid” can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT (Greatest Of All Time).
‘It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.’
Paul was on the undercard in 2020 when Tyson and Jones fought in an exhibition bout that was scored as a draw.
‘It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard,’ Paul said.
‘Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons.’
As the battle with Jake Paul looms closer, Tyson’s vigor and determination only intensify. The age gap between these fighters adds an extra layer of intrigue to this clash of generations. Get ready for a showdown like no other!
