Rashee Rice of the Kansas City Chiefs is back on the field in the interim, attempting to prepare for the 2024 NFL season. It is unclear what kind of punishment he will face after his involvement in a multi-car disaster on a Dallas freeway last month.
In spite of the allegations Rice is facing in Texas, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes appears eager to have the second-year receiver return to the team. Rice was seen on Wednesday running routes and receiving passes as his criminal case for street racing proceeds.
Rice begins his training
Days after teams with returning head coaches started their summer workout regimens, Rice and Mahomes worked out together on Wednesday. Mahomes, who is always committed to honing his skill and winning above all else, is aware of how important Rice was to Kansas City the previous season. As the Chiefs look to win three straight, Andy Reid’s system will require a locked-in Rice.

After a strong rookie campaign in 2023, Rice became a dependable target for Mahomes as a second-round choice. During the regular season, the former Southern Methodist standout caught 79 catches for 938 yards and seven scores, showing consistency in a situation when other Chiefs receivers struggled.
