Jerry Jones Fulfills Dak Prescott’s Wish Bringing Back His Best Friend and ‘Little Brother’ Zeke to Cowboys

Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, will be happy to see the team surprise him by bringing back Ezekiel Elliott.

Following his release from his contract last year, the running back, who is friendly with Prescott, is reportedly in negotiations to return to the NFL, according to general manager Jerry Jones.

Following a season away from the team, Elliott has officially announced his return. There had been much conjecture that Dallas was considering giving him a path back onto the Cowboys squad.

Dak Prescott in action

After six years in Dallas, the Pro Bowler will return to his former squad to reconcile with players like Prescott and his former teammates, provided all goes according to plan. Both parties have agreed on personal terms, subject to a physical inspection.

The Dallas Cowboys and running back Ezekiel Elliott have reached an agreement, subject to a physical that will result in Elliott’s return. This was revealed on Monday by NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

Elliott and his representatives met in Frisco to talk about a possible deal that may have been made with the Cowboys, but it was not finished in time to be made public.

But Jones acknowledged the team’s decision to bring Elliott back into the fold just a few days after Dallas was unable to choose a running back in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Was Dak Prescott involved in the transaction?

Elliott led the NFL in rushing during his first campaign (1,631 yards), helping the Cowboys to an impressive 13-3 record. Prescott, 30, and him forged a disastrous match. Since his left, Prescott has had difficulty finding another RB with the same zeal.

In 2023, Elliott decided to sign with the New England Patriots, but his output plummeted to just 642 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

Nevertheless, it appears that Jones had been closely monitoring his performances in order to consider bringing him back:  “I thought he played well the last part of the season at New England. Very well,”

Prescott previously referred to “Zeke” as his “little brother, a best friend” while discussing their bond in September; it is unknown if he was involved in talks. Prescott will undoubtedly be happy to have Zeke back.
