LeBron James Has “Huge” Praise for Zion Williamson : “Gon Be Great for a Long Time”

The Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans engaged in a battle for the seventh seed in the Western Conference at the Smoothie King Center. The Lakers with LeBron James in the lead managed to prevail. The King, though, was all on Zion Williamson after the game for his 40-point performance in the Pelicans’ defeat.

The Lakers emerged victorious, defeating the Pelicans 110-106 in the end. LeBron James took some time after the game to speak with the media about their upcoming game against the Denver Nuggets and what they can expect from them.

James gave an explanation of their strategy that helped them defeat the Pelicans tonight amid all the talk. In addition, he shared some information on the Denver Nuggets’ game plan and strategy against the reigning NBA champs. Ultimately, following his 40-point effort tonight, one of the reporters wanted to know James’ opinions on Zion Williamson.

LeBron James heaps praise on Zion Williamson

According to Spectrum SportsNet, this is what the four-time NBA champion thought of the Duke product.

“He’s gon be great for a long time. Obviously, a slow start to the season this year but he’s a generational player, generational talent. He’s gonna continue to get better and better and better. And tonight was just…of how great he can be.”

“His ability to get downhill, finish versus smalls, finish versus bigs, taller guys, shorter guys, it doesn’t matter. One thing about him is he’s not afraid to compete. That’s a great thing. He’s strong.”

Throughout the game, Zion Williamson scorched out with 40 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Despite the Lakers giving New Orleans a significant lead, he was the catalyst that kept the Pelicans in the contest.

The game’s result may have been very different if Williamson hadn’t left for the locker room in the latter stages of the fourth quarter. Fortunately, Zion and the Pelicans of New Orleans still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs.

The winner of the Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors game advances to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder after facing the New Orleans Pelicans for the eighth spot in the Western Conference. By then, Williamson should be back in the starting lineup for the Pelicans, who will need every player on the field to have any chance of making the playoffs.
