In the NBA play-in tournament on Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors lost to the Sacramento Kings 118-94, ending their season. The game took place at Golden 1 Center. Klay Thompson, the guard for the Warriors, had a poor game for the team. According to NBA.com, he went 0-10 from the field, including 0-6 from beyond the arc, and ended with no points.
This winter, the 13-year veteran will make his first attempt at free agency, and it’s not out of the question that he’ll test the market and leave the team in search of better opportunities elsewhere. In the middle of these speculations, Thompson’s main man, two-time league MVP Stephen Curry, was questioned concerning his friend’s possible departure from the team. Here’s what Anthony Slater says he said.
“I can never see myself not with those two guys [Klay Thompson and Draymond Green]. I understand this league changes and there’s so many things that go into it and we are not gonna play forever. We’ve experienced so much together and at the end of the day, I know they wanna win and I wanna win and that’s all I am worried about.”

What does Stephen Curry’s statement mean for Klay Thompson and Warriors
Not much more was revealed in Stephen Curry’s comments than what he has already made public. It’s evident that the 36-year-old—possibly more than any other NBA player—values loyalty. Therefore, it must have been devastating for him to watch a fellow “Big 3” Warrior depart. However, it’s also evident that even if Thompson does make the decision to depart, he won’t hold it against him and will probably instead choose to occasionally reminisce about the good old days spent with him.
The Warriors’ Big 3 era, which produced four titles for the team, would come to an end with Thompson’s possible departure. Curry, Thompson, and Green have already solidified their place in NBA legend.
