Ahman Green, a former running back for the Packers, announced his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis on Wednesday.
The 49-year-old, the Packers’ all-time running leader, revealed the information while talking about his post-playing career and efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle on the “Go Long” podcast with Tyler Dunne.
Green stated:
“Last year, I got diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s”. “I had a little bit of the feet twitching when I’m in my sleep and stuff like that.”
“I knew something was going on long before that. I just got a hold of some doctors that I was able to get in contact with. Get the diagnostics, get the testing. And finally got it tested last — it was January of 2025.”
“I didn’t share it for a long time because I wanted to let my kids know, my family”. “I let them all know first before I told friends, family, somebody like yourself.”
Despite having the illness for eighteen months, Green decided to keep the information to himself. Green stated that he is concentrating on exercising, maintaining a good diet, and taking medicine to fight Parkinson’s symptoms.
He also mentioned that he was talking and walking while he slept, as well as having short-term memory loss. Green claimed that since 2009, he has been jerking in his sleep, according to his wife.
