The Chiefs have some issues in their receiving room even though they are all fired up to go for a three-peat. The top wide receiver for the Chiefs, Rashee Rice, is still mired in legal issues. And his group anticipates that he will be suspended.
James Palmer discussed how the Chiefs are getting ready for games without Rice when he spoke on the Kay Adams show. Palmer outlined the current permissions granted to Rice. James Palmer also gave Kay an explanation of what the Chiefs expected of her, saying,
“He can go to OTAs. He was there, he can attend these workouts and he can participate. The Chiefs to my understanding are expecting him to be suspended for a number of games., however many number of games are they don’t know that right now.”
When can we expect Rashee Rice back?
Rice isn’t currently prohibited from participating in team activities. The WR has not received any word, and the NFL has not issued a ruling because of the drawn-out legal process. The Chiefs appear to have previously planned for the possibility of playing without Rice, though.

The Chiefs’ strategy is expected to alter now that Rice is anticipated to be suspended. The team will now need to depend more on players like Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy as their wide receiver group gets smaller. They will still be able to score goals offensively given Travis Kelce’s significant contribution to the team. But Rice’s absence will present a unique obstacle.
Rice’s advancement put him in an ideal position to assume deep field covering duties. The Chiefs’ receiving would become a little more complete with his deep-field coverage skills, but since they believe he will soon be suspended, their strategy will alter. Updates on Rice’s case are still coming in, and it’s unclear how the NFL will use him in the future.
