Two things are what Dwight Howard is anxiously awaiting. An NBA franchise calling, and Anthony Edwards giving out a free pair of Adidas AE 1. In the most recent episode of the Above The Rim with DH 12 podcast, the former Lakers great argued for himself to receive a gift from the Minnesota Timberwolves star. Howard found out that Edwards gave one to Micah Parsons through co-host Sniper Jones, so he asked for a free pair.
Wearing an AE1 pair while donning a Luka Doncic jersey, the Dallas Cowboys pass rusher attended Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Timberwolves.
Dwight Howard asks Anthony Edwards for AE1s
When Edwards and Parsons reconnected outside the locker room area following the game, the rookie guard noticed the NFL star donning his shoes. The Timberwolves star asserted that he had promised Parsons two during the press conference following the game, adding,
“Micah Parsons, you know, he was rocking the AE1s and I told him, he wear a size 14, I’ll bring him back some nice shoes for Game 6.”
Howard insisted that he should have received a complimentary pair of AE1s after discovering the background. He declared,
“Where my AE1s at? I’ve been repping you [Anthony Edwards]. I’ve been telling Minnesota going to win, put your money on Minnesota. Bet on Minnesota to win… I was betting on Minnesota winning. I was amping up Ant-Man!”
Regarding supporting Edwards and the Timberwolves in these playoffs, Howard is spot on. He boasted about picking Minnesota to upset the Denver Nuggets on a prior podcast episode before supporting them to defeat the Mavericks in seven games.
He can confidently assert that he was on the Timberwolves hype train from the beginning, even though they didn’t live up to his expectations.
