The U.S. Sun reported that Serena Williams’ stepmother has finally lost the family house in order to pay off her enormous debts; an auction is scheduled for next month.
For years, Richard and Lakeisha Williams’ marital residence in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was the subject of a protracted court dispute.
The house will be liquidated at an online auction on July 18 to settle the $436,113 debt she owes to “hard lender” David Simon, according to the final judgment filed this week.
Serena Williams’s stepmom and her fraud
All of this started when she faked the signature of renowned tennis teacher Richard on the title papers to put the property in her name. She then took out a $279,000 loan with Simon, which she squandered on a failing trucking company.
After seven years, the long-running story will come to an end as Simon has been pursuing her through the legal system. Through three Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings, Lakeisha had been able to delay the original house sale judgment for three years; however, her final case failed in May due to her inability to follow the repayment plan.
Despite the misgivings of Richard’s family, the 45-year-old former stripper and the 82-year-old Richard got married in 2010 after meeting at a tennis event. She had previously acknowledged to forging his signature on court documents in order to sell his campervan.
In interviews with The U.S. Sun, Chavoita LeSane, Richard’s son, claimed that she had secretly cashed his social security benefits and sold additional cars. Weak Richard has suffered three strokes and is suffering from dementia. We hope for Serena‘s sake, it all gets better.
