This Fourth of July, Tom Brady became quite popular, but not for the reasons one might anticipate. At Michael Rubin’s celebrity-filled White Party, the NFL icon was seen playing backyard football with up-and-coming players like C.J. Stroud and Micah Parsons. However, it didn’t end up with the bragging rights for the fiercely competitive Brady.
Rubin gave Taylor Rooks a little insider information on what transpired during their chat. And it appears that the famed competitive attitude of the seven-time quarterback was evident. Rubin admitted:
“Well, I think the mistake that happened was that Tommy picked me first. And that’s where he went wrong, and we actually lost.”
Tom Brady’s annoyance at losing
It turns out that when you’re competing against a bunch of NFL stars, having a billionaire as your first draft pick isn’t always the greatest course of action.
Brady, for his part, didn’t accept the defeat well. Rubin told Rooks, “He was very mad,” demonstrating how serious Brady takes his football, whether it’s played on a backyard pitch or a professional one. You can just picture the greatest player of all time mentally reliving the game and speculating about possible outcomes.
Tom Brady is still fiercely competitive in retirement, and it’s evident that he plays with the intention of winning no matter where or what. Brady’s defeat, nevertheless, was the result of an ambush rather than merely a draft error.
Rubin added,
“For C.J. [Stroud] and Damar [Hamlin], they’re like, ‘We’re f***ing playing Tom Brady. You guys are having fun, we’re coming to kill.’”
