Marcus, the son of Michael Jordan, made headlines recently when some intriguing photos of him appeared online. The 33-year-old was spotted snorting a white powder in them while on a south of France holiday. Social media users criticized and made fun of the father-son team for their impure behavior. Gilbert Arenas added his criticism to that of the six-time NBA champion, but not due to his son’s antics.
The former Wizards player criticized Jordan on a live stream for not employing his legal counsel or a public relations team to block the pictures and reports about it from becoming viral online.
Gilbert Arenas compares Michael Jordan’s actions to LeBron James
He likened it to the 2020 indiscretion of Lakers guard Bronny James. LeBron James, Arenas’ father, allegedly succeeded in having the incident’s tapes removed from the internet and the story forgotten. Jordan ought to have followed suit, he claimed, saying:
“After the Olympics, I got LeBron James as the GOAT. Not because of the Olympics itself, the game. I mean, because Michael Jordan’s son got in trouble and Michael Jordan didn’t get that scrubbed off the internet…While LeBron was on the road, little Bronny got caught up in some sh*t and you can’t find none of that no more.”
Arenas brought up the Bronny incident that occurred while James was imprisoned within the NBA Bubble. The 16-year-old guard shared an amazing video of himself smoking marijuana on Instagram. Despite the fact that marijuana is legal in California, James’ son’s recreational drug use was the complete opposite of the image that the four-time MVP and his staff have worked so hard to create over the past 20 years.
Even though the video became popular at the time, it appears that people have forgotten the story.
