In fact, Dylan Raiola’s collegiate football career could not have gotten off to a better start. The quarterback led Nebraska University to victory in their season opener, a 40–7 victory over UTEP, after throwing for 238 yards and scoring two touchdowns in his first game. This was the team’s best start in five years. NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes was thrilled by Raiola’s debut as well.
Raiola’s incredible 59-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Neyor was particularly noteworthy, as was Neyor’s incredible catch above his shoulder in coverage. Neyor almost stumbled at the 12-yard line but recovered to sprint into the end zone.
Even Mahomes, who took to X to subtweet a video of the pass and called Raiola “Lil Cuzzo,” couldn’t help but be impressed by the young quarterback’s performance.

Raiola, the son of former Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola, has drawn a lot of notice for his striking likeness to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Josh Johnson since reporting to training camp in Lincoln, Nebraska, on July 31.
The NFL community has taken notice of his appearance, which includes his trademark sunglasses and curly hair. Mahomes, for one, has welcomed the similarity. Despite their bizarre similarity that is drawing attention, they are not related at all.
