From the moment they start competing until the day they retire, every athlete’s dream is to win championships and trophies in every sport. Regretfully, not every player can declare after the game that they have won a title.
Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler are two superstars who haven’t been able to hoist an NBA Finals trophy yet, but their careers are still very much alive. They are now open to criticism because of this. With the Miami Heat, Butler has been extremely close twice; with the Philadelphia 76ers, Embiid, meanwhile, has not yet advanced to the Conference Finals.
Both had to witness Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics, their rivals in the Eastern Conference, win the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy the previous season.
Deuce Tatum will receive an NBA Championship ring of his own
Tatum received one before them, but Jayson’s 6-year-old son Deuce will also receive a ring of his own. Fans are making fun of both Butler and Embiid for it.

It’s difficult to make a living in the NBA when you can’t claim to have won a championship. As many great players will attest, winning one is not easy at all. Neither Paul George nor Chris Paul nor James Harden have been able to pull it off.
Not even legendary athletes like Allen Iverson, Karl Malone, or Charles Barkley could pull it off. Deuce Tatum, though, could.
