During a break from her “Gold Over America” tour, seven-time Olympic gold medallist Simone Biles recently added a new piece of body art to her collection. Fans speculate that the little “J” tattooed on her left hand is an homage to her spouse, NFL player Jonathan Owens.
Biles traveled to Phoenix, Arizona’s Syzygy Precision Tattooing, where Sydney Smith, an artist, inked her. Adding to her collection of body art, she also had a neck tattoo that said “Made in Heaven,” in addition to the tiny “J” on her finger. Smith revealed that the entire process took roughly ninety minutes, finishing both tattoos during Biles’ short break from the tour.
Many people think that Biles’s “J” is a loving nod to Owens, whom she married earlier this year, even though she hasn’t stated as much. The NFL star, who is well-known for his work with the Green Bay Packers, has played a big part in Biles’ life, and it looks like this tattoo is a tender memento of their relationship.
For Simone Biles, more than simply a tat
Biles has previously used tattoos as a means of self-expression. She adds a new level of personal importance to her experience as a public figure and athlete with every work. Her Olympic medals serve as a sign of her achievement and strength, but these tattoos convey a deeper personal tale.
While Sydney Smith, a tattoo artist, stressed treating every client with the same attention and care, she characterized working with Biles as a unique experience. “I treat all of my clients the same, but that was a terrific experience. Being able to do what I love every day is always fun!” Following the meeting, Smith shared.
It wasn’t just Biles who had new tattoos during the tour. Athletes Shane Wiskus and Casimir Schmidt also participated, each choosing a different design. While Schmidt elected to have the number 13 tattooed on his arm, Wiskus decided to get a tarot card tattoo on his leg.
