Before getting hurt for her major stage role, Nicole Scherzinger was a vision in lace. At the Broadway premiere of Sunset Boulevard on Sunday, the 46-year-old former Pussycat Dolls actress dazzled in a shimmering black gown. Nicole, who plays the musical’s main role, Norma Desmond, walked around New York City sporting diamond earrings.
She was still splattered in blood from the show’s reworked ending when she greeted 76-year-old creator and impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber backstage after her performance. He stated: “Nicole is one of the finest singers I have worked with, and I can’t wait to get started on this exciting show with her and the rest of this brilliant team.”
The composer of Sunset Boulevard, Andrew Lloyd Webber, has praised Nicole, a former X Factor judge, for her singing prowess.
The narrative of Norma, a fading star of silent films, is told in Sunset Boulevard, which is based on the 1950 movie of the same name. A fortunate encounter with a young screenwriter provides Norma, who lives in a dilapidated home, with the chance to regain her previous splendor.
Nicole started a solo music career after the Pussycat Dolls broke up in 2010, and she went on to have five UK top 10 hits. When she played Grizabella in the musical Cats in 2014, she made her West End debut. Last year, she also gave a performance during King Charles’ coronation concert.
