His old mater is so proud of him that they have chosen to induct him into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame as a way of showing their appreciation. Considering they had to cut out another elite player to make room for him, that’s a huge thing.
Patrick Mahomes is among the members of the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame’s Board of Directors’ most recent list of selections for the upcoming class. Coaches Jeff Traylor and Curtis Barbay are beside him, along with other well-known figures like Pat Thomas, Brad Goebel, John C. Norman, and Robert Griffin III. On May 10, 2025, they will all be formally recognized and inducted in Waco. I’m sure it’s a
great honor for all of them.

Given that certain people, such as former Texas product Johnny Menzel, have been praising Murray, it’s a bit of a brainteaser. According to Menzel, Murray is the greatest quarterback to have ever graduated from Texas High School football. He stated: “If you know anything about Texas High School football, I would say (Kyler Murray’s) resume and what he did makes him hands down the best Texas high school football player to ever play.”
But it’s not just about being inducted into the Hall of Fame. The contrast between Kyler Murray and Patrick Mahomes’ high school football careers has been raised by this entire circumstance. They both had a significant influence while they were in Texas, and it is obvious that they are both extremely talented.
