After yesterday night’s close victory over the LA Clippers, Anthony Edwards reflected on his friendship with James Harden. The Timberwolves star disclosed that his relationship with Harden predates his arrival to the NBA.
In a locker room interview after the game, Edwards stated: “That’s my man. I’ve been a fan of Harden since I was in high school,”. “He wrote to me when I was in high school on Instagram and you know, we have just been locked in there ever since.”
Since neither celebrity has discussed their past in recent years, it’s a bit of a revelation. But following a foul call during the game, Ant-Man was similarly quick to put the past behind him and accuse him of talking garbage.
Anthony Edwards talks about James Harden’s influence
When asked how it felt to be contacted by a league MVP before he was even a member of the NBA, Edwards responded as follows:
“That’s when he was at his peak so, you know what I mean, that was dope. That was dope. I mean, I’m not like a big, I don’t really, like, it didn’t mean too much to me, but it was just, you know, super dope for him to take the time out of his day. Cause I know how busy people are.” “He took the time out of his day to hit me up on Instagram, like, ‘Keep going young fella’, and I was like, ‘Fosho’.”
Anthony Edwards and James Harden had a fun chat where they went from trash talking each other to a full circle moment about being the faces of Adidas Basketball.

When Ant joined the league in 2020, he signed with Adidas, while the Beard has been with the three stripes since 2015. With the two guards now serving as the faces of Adidas basketball, the Wolves star did consider how their relationship has come full circle. However, it makes sense that Ant-Man didn’t necessarily have a fan moment when the Beard hit him up, considering his background in the sport.
