Danette Colbert Arrested in Connection of The Death of Super Bowl Reporter Adan Manzano

Danette Colbert, a 48-year-old woman from Slidell, Louisiana, has been arrested in connection with the death of 27-year-old Telemundo reporter Adan Manzano. Manzano was in New Orleans covering Super Bowl LIX when he was found unresponsive in his Kenner hotel room on February 5, 2025 via apnews.com.

Surveillance footage from the hotel showed Colbert entering Manzano’s room with him around 4:35 a.m. on February 5 and leaving alone approximately an hour and a half later. Following this, Colbert was seen using Manzano’s credit card at various stores in the New Orleans area. A search of her residence led to the discovery of Manzano’s credit card and cellphone, as well as narcotics.

Colbert has a history of similar offenses, including previous arrests for drugging men and stealing their belongings. In January 2022, she was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly stealing $50,000 in cash and valuables from a man who believed he had been drugged via fox26houston.com.

Currently, Colbert faces charges related to fraud and theft, but the investigation is ongoing. The exact cause of Manzano’s death has yet to be determined, pending autopsy and toxicology results. Authorities have noted that there were no obvious signs of trauma on his body.

Manzano, originally from Mexico, had recently started anchoring at Telemundo and was passionate about sports reporting. He leaves behind a two-year-old daughter, having lost his wife in a car accident the previous year.
