Bank Teller Stephanie Rose Kilbert Arrested For Allegedly Stealing $8K From Elderly Customer She Pretended To Help

Regions Bank teller Stephanie Rose Kilbert decided it would be a good idea to steal $8K from an elderly customer she was supposed to be helping out. Can you believe the nerve of this teller?

It’s honestly mind-boggling how someone can stoop so low. Like, seriously, who steals from the elderly? That’s just cold-hearted. And get this, she wasn’t even subtle about it. She pretended to help the poor old customer while pocketing his hard-earned money. Talk about betrayal!

Stephanie Rose Kilbert was charged with exploiting an elderly or disabled person and theft, according to court records viewed by PEOPLE.

Kilbert, who was an employee at Regions Bank at the time, was allegedly assisting an elderly customer who was a regular customer of the Smyrna branch. She allegedly withdrew $8,000 from the victim’s account without his knowledge. She made multiple transactions between Oct. 3 and Nov. 4, 2024, WSB-TV reports, citing a Cobb County Georgia arrest warrant.

A Regions Bank representative confirmed with PEOPLE that Kilbert was terminated from her position in February and that the customer was credited for all reported transactions.

“Rest assured, we have zero tolerance for the type of behavior alleged in this case. Our investigators have strong relationships with law enforcement, and we are committed to helping bring this matter to justice,” the representative said.

On Tuesday, April 2, Judge Brendan Murphy set a $15,000 bond for Kilbert.

Moral lesson here? Don’t trust just anyone, especially when it comes to your money. Make sure you keep a close eye on your accounts and report any suspicious activity immediately. And to all you bank tellers out there, please, for the love of all that’s good in this world, don’t be like Stephanie Rose Kilbert. We deserve better than that.
